Born 1964 in London. His works, expressed through different techniques and media, are constantly reflecting on human nature, life and death. He gained popularity at the beginning of the 1990’s with his work Self, a sculpture of his head made with 4,5 liters of his own frozen blood. In 2005 he revealed his sculpture Sphynx in which the model Kate Moss, who is shown in a yoga contortionist position, became the symbol of absolute beauty, an heroic, after death figure. This effigy was then reinterpreted by the artist in his famous 'Siren', this time in solid gold, and was exhibited at British Museum in London from December 2008 to January 2009.
