Born 1918 in Catanzaro, he died In Milan in 2006. He became popular for his works of dècollages, that is using advertising posters as a urban artistic expression. Rotella used to glue on the canvas the pieces of advert posters that he ripped off in the street , combining cubism collage technique and ready made Dadaist concept.. Later on, he invented the double décollage technique: advertising posters were first removed from the placard and then ripped off in his laboratory.
