Born 1948 in Benevento (Italy), he belongs to the Transavantgarde movement that was established by Achille Bonito Oliva in 1980 and reintroduced painting, rejecting the conceptual art of the 1970’s. Paladino’s language is fluid and ambiguous and join together painting and sculpture. His disturbing figures and forms have been inspired by primordial cultures, primitive art and by cabala. Paladino strongly believes that art should make questions and not necessarily provide the answers.
