The villa & grounds

Villa Amistà is at Corrubbio di Negarine among the Valpolicella hills and stands on the remains of a Roman "strong house". The central body of the house dates from the sixteenth century, and was designed in the Venetian style by Michele Sanmicheli, one of the great Veronese masters of the Renaissance. The current building dates back to 1700 and was designed by the architect Ignazio Pellegrini. The interior contains original features from both times.

Art

A joy for the senses

The designer Alessandro Mendini, working with art collector and hotel owner Dino Facchini, managed to combine the very eccentric aspects of his style with the classical décor of the villa. So, vivid colours and plastic shapes sit alongside paintings and marbles in the historic salons, creating a unique and multi-layered visual environment. There are more than 200 works in the common areas, the rooms and gardens, including some site-specific installations, paintings and sculptures, plus a multimedia centre. Guests can enjoy the art by referencing the book "Extraordinary Byblos Art Hotel", published in 2024 by the Milanese publishing house Electa.
