A 5-star hotel near Verona
where luxury meets the art of hospitality

An extraordinary combination of Renaissance elegance and avant-garde art. You get this and much more at the Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà, a 5-star luxury hotel in the beautiful Valpolicella region, on the outskirts of Verona.
Villa Amistà is set on a gentle hillside near Corrubbio di Negarine, standing on the remains of a Roman "strong house". In the sixteenth century, Michele Sanmicheli, the great Renaissance master from Verona, built a Venetian-style villa for the noble Banda family. This became the central part of the present house. The building we see now was designed by the architect Ignazio Pellegrini; it dates back to 1700 and combines Baroque and Neoclassical features. The interior contains original features from both periods, which have been carefully and lovingly restored.

The Villa
The current villa consists of a large central section in the form of a rectangle, to which are attached two symmetrical wings. Two towers stand in front of the villa, which is set in elegant Italian-style parkland, adorned with fountains, ancient trees, orchards and vegetable plots. The whole structure is surrounded by a wall, reflecting its noble and discreet character.
In 1999, Dino Facchini, an entrepreneur working in the field of fashion, bought Villa Amistà, which had lain abandoned since the Second World War. With its collection of works by internationally renowned artists, the Villa has become a real museum of contemporary art. It is now home to the Byblos Art Hotel, a place where history and contemporary art combine to create a wonderful environment.

Design
The designer Alessandro Mendini managed to combine some of the very eccentric aspects of his style with the classical décor of the villa. So, vivid colours and plastic shapes coexist with the paintings and marbles in the sixteenth-century salons, creating a truly unique environment.
There are more than 200 works in the common areas, the rooms and the extensive grounds, including some site-specific installations. Private visits are also arranged for outside visitors to come and enjoy the art. The rooms and Suites each have a unique character, providing a haven of peace and beauty, while the common areas such as the outdoor pool are wonderful places for relaxation and reflection.
The Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà reveals itself in all its grandeur as soon as you pass through the entrance, with its imposing position at the head of the gardens with all their harmonious colours.
At the Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà, every stay is like a sensory journey, with art combining with history and comfort to create a wonderful, timeless experience. Guests enter a world with exquisitely crafted details, stylish furnishings and a superb standard of service.

The lush gardens at the Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà reflect the mixture of styles that characterise the interior of this historic residence.

The grounds
The grounds have a timeless atmosphere, surrounded by a patchwork of vineyards that create intricate patterns on the hills. Among the ancient trees and avenues, you come to contemporary sculptures that seem to converse with nature, while an elegant fountain in front of the villa welcomes the arriving guests. There are many hidden corners in this tranquil place, providing pleasant shady retreats during the hottest days of summer.
